AirTran Airways Launches New Routes From Milwaukee

- Packers Star Wide Receiver Donald Driver Helps Airline Celebrate New Destinations -

ORLANDO, Fla., May 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), celebrated the launch of several new routes today from General Mitchell International Airport with Green Bay Packers star wide receiver Donald Driver, Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker and Michael Mayo, Sr., chairman of the Transportation, Public Works and Transit Committee.

AirTran Airways' operations have grown 57 percent in Milwaukee during the past year, including new nonstop flights to Denver and St. Louis starting today, and flights to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C., beginning June 11.

To mark the first day of service, AirTran Airways hosted a celebratory event at the airport featuring a donation of $10,000 to the Milwaukee chapter of Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization that builds homes for low-income families. Following the check presentation, Driver autographed a Packers welcome mat and presented it to a family living in a home built by the organization.

"AirTran Airways is dedicated to serving the Milwaukee community and its residents by providing new nonstop flights to more cities," said Tad Hutcheson, vice president of marketing and sales for AirTran Airways. "Also as important as adding new flights, we are dedicated to being a good community citizen and doing what we can to lend a hand to those in need right here in Milwaukee."

"I welcome the news that AirTran Airways is bringing more flight options to General Mitchell International Airport," said Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker. "Nonstop flights are critical for our region's long-term economic development."
